The importance of drug awareness sometimes can take a back seat to the “real” world as seen through the eyes of a 6‐year old.
Just ask Coronado Police Officer Diana Drummey who several years ago spoke to a class of first graders at Village Elementary School. As a public service of the Coronado Police Department, Drummey gave her 15‐minute DARE (Drug Awareness Resistance Educaton) talk to the youngsters.
As is customary at the conclusion of her DARE lesson, Drummey asked if the students had any questions. And, calling on a young lady who raised her hand almost immediately, Drummey was asked the all -important question of the moment: “Is that Flamingo Red on your nails?” Drummey had recently had her nails done at Mycorn’s.
