Your Pet's Rescue StoryOur family frequently visits the pet adoption facilities to donate and give snuggles to the animals awaiting homes. One recent visit a tiny ball of black fur was huddled into the corner of a cage. She would not move for anyone coming by her. Not anyone but my son, Vaughn. She lit up like Christmas morning when he walked by. And when he stopped to say hello she ran up to him, tail wagging so hard her back feet came off the ground. When he left to continue to another animal she went back to her corner. Every time my son walked by her cage she would run back up to greet him again & again. Always going back to the corner when he would leave.
A special bond between the two could not be denied. We asked if we could see her outside of her cage. She barely weighed 3 pounds, but my son had to hold onto her tight because her tail was still wagging so hard.
Well, I think we know how this story goes. It was meant to be. Lucky Penny came home with us on St. Patrick's day. She has made herself right at home with our other rescued animals. It truly was "lucky" day for all of us.
