Your Pet's Rescue StoryMy granddaughter desperately wanted a dog when she was in first grade. She used to actually pray for a dog, one day it would be a white dog and the next for a black dog. (We laugh about it now because Molly is black and white.) She told everyone at school every day for several months that she was getting a dog even though her mother had said no. Her brother was diagnosed with autism and her Mom had her hands very full. Since she was at my house everyday after school I told her I would get a dog for her. We kept hearing on the news how the recession had hit so many families so hard they were even giving up their pets. I thought we would go to the spca and find a dog already housebroken who needed a good home. When we walked in the very first room had puppies and that was it. The other puppies were all paying attention to each other but Miss Moo was straining as tall as she could on her hind legs to reach us. She is a people person. The attendant handed her to us and her little tail never stopped. She is still the friendliest dog I've ever met and a wonderful addition to our family!
