Your Pet's Rescue Story
We encountered Tofu as a little lost kitten in the streets of Miami on a cloudy day in 2019. We weren't ready for a pet in our lives, but we were compelled to provide her shelter from the incoming storm. She seemed so helpless—lost and alone in a cruel world that had abandoned her. The next day we took her to the local shelter to check to see if she was microchipped. We were told she was too young (about 5 weeks old) to be chipped, and that we could leave her at the shelter as a stray. But we just couldn't abandon her there. We took her home and our niece said, "Her temporary name is 'Tofu'."
Taking a second to think it through, we both replied, "No. Her permanent name is 'Tofu'."
Tofu has brought of love to our lives during difficult times. In this photo she is pictured on top of the highest piece of furniture in the house. We still don't know how she made it up there.
