Your Pet's Rescue StoryBart came to us in 2023 through Poodle & Pooch Rescue in Central Florida. Bart had been living at a 55+ assisted living facility in Daytona Beach along with 100 other animals when unfortunately, the property was foreclosed upon, and all the animals had to be evicted immediately. Bart was not in great shape, he was underweight, had fleas, scabs, and his right eye was severely infected and had to be removed. Originally taken in as a temporary foster, it didn’t take long for “One-eyed-Bart” to claim his throne as King of our castle and our hearts. He may only have one eye, one beautiful blue eye, but he cleverly uses that eye to find his favorite snacks, brussels sprouts and homegrown tomatoes, and no we’re not kidding. Bart is a cat-of-all-trades and is very helpful around the house. He greets guests at the door, he turns on lights for us, and he’s excellent at supervising kitchen activities like taste sampling everything that gets prepared, opening the grocery bags, and sometimes he even offers to help with the dishes. When he’s not helping, you can find Bart enjoying a cat nap in his “dog” bed, hopping into a steam shower, or giving out the occasional snuggle with a loud purr. He’s friendly with all his canine, aviary, and small mammal siblings, and overall, the most likable and attractive guy in the room. Not only would Bart look great on a bottle of wine, but he’d also probably even enjoy a sip or two.
