Your Pet's Rescue Story
When we first moved into our new home it felt empty and cold. We decided to check out our local (kill) shelter initially to get a kitten but when we saw Scrappy, we had to meet him. After taking him for a walk, we knew it was love at first sight.
Once we got him home we quickly noticed he was malnourished and covered in scars all over his belly. Upon inquiring with the shelter we found out he was running away from his previous home (most likely because he was left in the Florida heat all day/night).
Now he is our little best friend. Everyone in our neighborhood knows him by name because he loves people and, especially, loves playing with his doggy friends. We continually get compliments from friends (and even strangers) on how he’s so well-mannered and just down to have a good time.
Scrappy just celebrated his second birthday with us in Jekyll Island. He’s been to multiple Florida beaches, hiking the mountains in North Carolina, paddle boarding, deep sea fishing and he’s a regular at all of the local breweries.
He wears so many titles: adventure dog, boat dog, bar dog, but really the title he deserves most is the “bestest boy of all time.”
