Your Pet's Rescue StoryI rescued Petey 11 years ago from Miami Dade Animal Services. He had mange from neglect and had been living i n the streets. Petey was diagnosed 3.2 years ago with Lymphoma and has undergone oral chemo ever since. He is doing well, he is active and loves everyone he meets. He loves living in Orlando his new home for the last 4 years. Petey shares his home with two other female rescue dogs. The love of his life Diamond (a rescue as well) passed last November. They were a true and loving couple. He now sticks closer to us than ever before. When I first rescued Petey, we had several dogs at our home in Miami. I simply intended to have him recover from his mange and then try and find him a new appropriate home. I was a rescue volunteer with a local organization for many years. It soon become clear that Petey was not going anywhere. Petey has given us love, lots of sloppy pittie kisses, drool whenever food is involved and entertainment on a daily basis. He has slowed down at the age of 11 but we are so glad we made him part of our family and gave him a chance to live his best life.
