Your Pet's Rescue Story
Jacob was left in the street as a puppy. We adopted him when he was 12 weeks old in 2012.
Six months earlier our beloved dog Beanie went to the Rainbow Bridge. We had been grieving terribly, but knew we were ready to give a dog in need a forever home.
At first Jacob wouldn't even make eye contact with us, but we let him realize in his own time that he was home, that we loved him and that he would never ever be abandoned again. He has been our baby ever since. We took him for puppy training, socializing him with other dogs and humans. He travels with us everywhere. We only go places where animal companions are welcome.
Jacob helped heal the pain of losing Beanie. We call him an empath because he is so connected to the emotions of all other beings. It is as if via telepathy he knows our feelings. He is a comforter.
Jacob loves to swim, go to the dog park, play with the cats, play toss the ball (we throw the ball to him and he bounces it back with his snout, like a seal). I will testify under oath that he smiles and laughs as well. He has many plush toys, all of which he knows by their names (of course we say he is a genius).
We are eternally grateful that he is a part of our lives. Not only do we love him completely, but he has shown us unconditional love. That unconditional love which dogs try to teach us. Yes, there is much we still have learn from our canine companions. Jacob is letting us realize in our own time about the universal beauty of living in the moment.
