Your Pet's Rescue StorySometime many years ago I lost one of my two cats. I had been in my new home for about a year when this happened, and I was looking for a companion for my remaining cat and dog who would be home alone while I was at work. I was looking for a distinct feline that would stand out from all the other cats who were in the neighborhood. I found a gold boy with gold eyes at the county animal shelter. He had short hair and was very quiet. Turned out he had a little cold, but I was able to take him home with me then and there. Soon he recovered and surprisingly his hair grew out. It seems he had to get a fur cut after living in a field for who knows how long. He turned into a real floofy boy and so full of charm. And now, even though his original companions are gone, and he has been joined by 4 other cats and a dog he still remains his authentic self. The gang likes to hang out on the catio to enjoy the sun and fresh air. They all get along ok; however, my dog thinks he is Gandalf and won't pass by him. Topaz enjoys playing the part. My fur babies are all special and I have so many photos. It was hard to pick the right one. This particular picture stood out. It seems to capture his true being. It's one of my favorites. I've lost track of all the years now; it's probably been around 11 or 12 we've been together. The last few have been tough on him as he's been fighting stomatitis and ended up losing all his back teeth. He's been a trooper through it all. And despite the occasional bad day, he carries on like he always does. He is and will always be my Cap't Fuzzypants, my Honey Bear, my buddy and most importantly, my dear, dear friend.
