Your Pet's Rescue StoryAfter the loss of my previous dog, I didn’t think my heart could take that loss again. A short nine months later, I knew it was time and I started looking for a very specific dog, a lab pit mix to be exact. I came across a photo of a very handsome boy at the Pet Alliance Sanford shelter. He went by a different name and his profile said “lots of energy.” So I headed to the shelter to check him out. We spent about 30 minutes together and he was super chill which didn’t match up with his profile information. Still unsure I asked if they could hold him until the next day. I was told not to worry that because of his breed he wouldn’t be adopted. I came back the following week, knowing that if he was still there, he was meant for me. He was there and we spent another 30 minutes together. Still super chill. I thought this boy is mine. I remember driving home that he sat in the back of my SUV looking out the back window all the way home. Within a few days I learned what lots of energy meant. Finn is my everything! In the 8 1/2 years we’ve spent together, he has been the best snuggly, lovey boy every! We enjoy walks through our neighborhood visiting with dog and human neighbors. Saturday afternoon naps snuggled up on the couch. During the week, he lays on his dog bed under my desk while I work. I’m so glad my heart was open to another dog because I can’t imagine my life without Finn.
