Your Pet's Rescue StoryWhile traveling through Mexico, I spent time with a family who had multiple outdoor dogs. One of the dogs had puppies and while all the puppies were given away, Miguel stayed behind. He had a deformed front paw that made the family worry that someone would kill him or abandon him in a field. With taking care of multiple adult dogs, Miguel would get lost in the shuffle, often fighting the other dogs for food, or being subjected to extremely rough play. I watched Miguel struggle to keep up with the other dogs due to his deformed paw and how he was always last to things. After witnessing one of the dogs hurting him, I decided that I was going to care for him. A few weeks later, the family drove him from Mexico to Orlando. I never had a puppy before, let alone a dog, so this has been an adventure! Miguel enjoys grabbing his leash and proudly walking me to our front door safely. His paw has since healed and he loves running as fast as he can when retrieving his favorite tennis ball. At daycare, they post him all over social media (he has these bright blue eyes!) and has a fearless attitude that he uses to approach new situations. Miguel has taught me so much in this little time that I've had him (don't leave socks on the floor!). Miguel loves anyone he encounters and is determined to make every dog his friend. He's also caused me to meet new people because everyone tries to guess what breed he is (those eyes really throw people off!). Despite some of the stress that comes with having a 4 month old puppy, I don't regret bringing him from Mexico to my home where he is able to be his vocal, confident, and charismatic self!
