Your Pet's Rescue StoryWhen I saw Rally's "Please Take Me Home" eyes in her photo on the rescue Facebook page, I knew right away she was the one for me. In exchange for belly rubs and head scratches, I get kisses, puppy eyes and unconditional love. I am forever grateful for my fur-ever friend.
Rally was surrendered because her prior owner was going through some extensive medical issues and was unable to care for her going forward. Rally was 9 months old and still very much a puppy.
When I saw her photo in FB and read the brief description, I had a really good feeling about the connection, even through social media! I filled out the application and sent it in hoping to hear back soon. The following day I saw an ad from the shelter saying they would be bringing puppies to a Pet Supermarket located about an hour from my home. They had a photo of puppies loaded up in their van, but Rally wasn't one of them.
I had the time and thought I would drive out there anyway and at least speak with some of the shelter staff and let them meet me and see how interested I was in one of their fur-babies.
When I got there, I saw a woman and a man standing side by side, the woman with a dog on a lease and the man with a small puppy in his arms. The dog on the lease looked like Rally from the photo, but I wasn't sure. I walked up and asked if they worked for the shelter. "No, we are looking for a dog,” she said. "Oh,” I said rather disappointed. "Do you know if that pups name is Rally?,” I asked. "It is" she said, "Is this your dog?," she asked. "No, I just applied for her online yesterday,” I replied.
"Well, here,” she said handing me the leash. "We were just trying to decide which one we wanted and if you take her and we take this one, well, 2 dogs get adopted today.”
And she was right. After a few jogs around the shopping center and a little Get-to-Know-You Time, my Rally Girl was in my car coming home with me and the little white pup was heading off to his new place too.
It's a Happy Tail!
