Your Pet's Rescue StoryI was a foster for Pet Alliance, and in February 2020, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and with a full time job and full time college student, Will and I knew I probably had too much on my plate to keep taking care of kittens. The foster coordinator at the Orlando Pet Alliance was beyond supportive.
I had surgery on March 9th during my spring break, and just when the world was shutting down, Susan reached back out to see if now that I had a bit more free time, if I wanted a buddy to help me recover. A single 6-week old kitten that had been tossed out of a car window and was in bad shape. Of course I said yes and she was truly my best friend. The next several days turned to weeks, and weeks to months. I knew with all going on in the world, I couldn't lose her.
Fast forward to today, she still hangs out in the basket on my bike, has made several cross country road trips home with me, and always sit next to Will to watch him play video games. She loves butt scratches, throwing her toys at the ceiling, and playing under clean bed sheets.
I truly don't think either of us could have made it through that time without her, and the countless foster kittens she has helped raise along the way.
