Your Pet's Rescue StoryIris was rescued by Sophie’s Circle from a kill shelter in Georgia in April 2022 she was 10 months at the time and just in time because she was scheduled to be euthanized.
I picked her up the day she arrived in Florida . She was scared no hair because of mange covered with scars heartworm positive and full of worms and 10 lbs under weight . I cried the whole way home and she in the back seat by the time we were almost home was kissing me . Iris had months of treatments for heartworm and mange learning to trust people and trust other dogs also .
At the beginning of 2022 our 14 yr old dog past away and our rescued 4 yr old past away 3 weeks apart we were very heartbroken so we decided to foster . We had one female foster with us Luna when Iris arrived they bonded quickly and Luna was a big help teaching Iris how to play ball helping with potty training helping with our walks together . We became a family again our hearts that were so broken were full so in August 2022 we officially adopted both our fosters.
Iris just turned 2 on June 25 th this year she is such a happy girl heartworm negative, weighing in at 60lbs as you can see from the photo she is just so beautiful. Iris loves to play ball get belly rubs she will actually wake you up in the middle of the night for one if she can’t sleep , long walks, has a big back yard to run with Luna , and loves to swim with her yellow life vest .
I am so thankful to Sophie Circle Rescue for letting me foster her then adopted both my dogs it was the hardest this I have ever done but the best thing I have ever done . It took a village but she made it and she is beautiful and she is happy.
