Your Pet's Rescue Story
Jack’s previous owners got him from a shelter, but after a few months with him posted him for sale on Craigslist as they deemed him “too needy” for their family of 5 and 2 other dogs. My parents picked up Jack as a surprise to me since I was living alone for the first time. I remember going to my parents’ house for dinner and I saw a dog with a pirate hat running around with an uneven haircut. He was the funniest looking pup and was a little bundle of energy. His official name was Captain Jack, hence the pirate hat, but now he just goes by Jack. When I brought Jack back to my house that night, I had him in a crate by my bed unsure if I wanted a dog who slept in the bed or not. He started whining and I couldn’t resist. As soon as I opened the door, he jumped up into the bed and snuggled up to me. We’ve been cuddling ever since! Jack turns 10 this July and we’ve been together for 9 years this October. Since I got Jack, he’s gotten a better haircut, learned to sit, stand, and spin (only if he gets a Greenie), and endured one too many photoshoots. He’s traveled to 15 states and has been to Canada and Aruba. His hobbies are sleeping, eating, and pretending he’s an extrovert. What can I say? The life of a dog.
