About Us

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

The Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation was formally approved as a 501(c)3 charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service as of June 2, 2017. Since that time, we have helped organize many activities to further our mission of helping children worldwide and right here in Mukilteo. Our original Kiwanis Club of Mukilteo was formed in 2001.

Ok, folks, here's the bigger reason for running a Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020 Contest. With our basic focus on youth, we're raising money to provide youth in our area with scholarships and grants to area non-profits with the same mission to serve children and youth.  We are partnering with Brent Planning Solutions, Travis Industries, Pam Taylor Keller Williams Real Estate, the Mukilteo Beacon, Sam’s Pet Store, and Friends of Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation to help ensure that high school seniors who apply for our scholarships will have an opportunity for a brighter future. Thanks to our generous sponsors, all funds raised through this campaign will be used for these scholarships and grants.

Many of our local kids need these scholarships more than ever because of the financial hardships resulting from COVID-19. Loss of jobs and income has hit many of our local families very hard.

We financially sponsor and support Key Clubs at Kamiak and Mariner High Schools to help high school students develop a passion for service and leadership. We help area youth organizations raise money for their needs through our Kiwanis Salmon Bake at the annual Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival. We have also raise funds through other Salmon Bakes, a pancake breakfast, and assisting with local air shows at Paine Field.

More recently, we help other organizations who share our mission, such as Special Olympics of Washington, Housing Hope, Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County, the Mukilteo YMCA, Imagine Children’s Museum and Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.

We help our community by volunteering at the Community Garden, participate in WSDOT’s Adopt-a-Highway program (cleaning up litter on SR 525), purchasing bilingual library books for all libraries in the Mukilteo School District, volunteering for the Special Olympics, Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival, National Night Out and Holidays with Heros.
