New "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020" Prize Category
The Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation is announcing a new prize for entries in the "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020" online pet contest. All entrants who do not place in First, Second or Third in our Dog, Cat or Unique Pet category will be placed in a random drawing for a $75 gift certificate from Mukilteo's Red Cork Bistro as a thank you for entering.
Eligibility to participate in this random drawing is:
- Entry into the Dog, Cat or Unique Pet Category but did not place First, Second or Third in any category by the end of the contest at 12:00am on September 5.
- Entry has received at least 50 votes by 12:00am on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
The random drawing winner will be announced on Saturday, September 5 via email to all entrants. The winner of this random drawing will receive their gift certificate by mail, and will be invited to be photographed with our First, Second and Third Place winners for the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation website, as well as the Mukilteo Beacon and Mukilteo Monthly Magazine. By excepting the award, you are giving us permission to include your photograph; the date and time of photos will be determined later.

Prizes will be awarded to the
Top 3 Dogs, the
Top 3 Cats and the
Top 3 Unique Pets based on the number of votes received by midnight September 4. There will be a total of nine (9) prizes. All 9 winners will be featured in the Mukilteo Beacon and Mukilteo Monthly magazine.
- First Place: The pet in each category (dog, cat and unique pet) with the most votes will be crowned the "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
- The first place winner from each category will receive a first place trophy and a free pet photo package taken by a local professional photographer. Prize worth: $75.
- Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.
- Second Place: The pet with the second highest number of votes in each category will be deemed the "Second Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
- The second place winner from each category will receive a second place trophy and a specialty basket of goodies. Basket value: $50.
- Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.
- Third Place: The pet with the third highest number of votes will be deemed the "Third Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
- The third place winner from each category will receive a third place trophy and a $25 gift card from Sam's Pet Shop.
- Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.
The Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation will make every attempt to notify the Top 3 Dog, Top 3 Cat and Top 3 Unique Pet category winners via telephone and email during the week of September 8.
If the winner cannot be contacted by September 15, the second place winner will take the top spot. Should the second place winner also not be successfully contacted by the deadline of September 22, the third place winner takes the top spot.
