Official Contest Rules

1. All entries will be made online by visiting the contest website and following the directions for entering pets in the contest and voting. Contest payments will be made online through a secure payment site.
2. There is a $10 fee to enter your pet which automatically gives you 10 votes that can be used for any pet submission; ballot box stuffing is encouraged!
3. Additional votes cost $1 and can be made in any number throughout the contest.
4. Entrants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
5. Only online entries will be accepted; donations directly to the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation made online or via U.S. mail will be graciously accepted and mailed to PO Box 1553, Mukilteo, WA  98275.

1. The Coolest Pet in Mukilteo Contest 2020 is open to anyone 18 years or older who would like to enter their pet to compete for the coveted title of "Mukilteo's Coolest Pet 2020".
2. "Pet" shall be defined as a canine or dog, feline or cat. In addition, a "unique" pet is an open category that can include any pet such as a bird, gecko, horse, goldfish, or any non-canine or feline that can be photographed and lives with the contest entrant; no wildlife will be accepted.
3. The contest is open to anyone within the city limits of Mukilteo, WA or anywhere in the universe. Our focus is Mukilteo, but pets from anywhere can enter.
4. To participate, an entrant must submit a photo of their pet, and provide a few short sentences why their pet is the coolest of the cool. Photos should be digital, in focus and sharp enough to look good on the internet and show off the pet. Photos of pets only, no people. By submitting a photo, the pet owner is granting GoGo Photo Contest and the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation approval to post their pet photo(s) on the contest website, the website of the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation, the Mukilteo Beacon, Mukilteo Monthly Magazine, and any other medium approved by the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation.
5. The entrance fee is $10 per pet submission. With payment of the submission fee, 10 votes are automatically awarded. If there are multiple pets in one family, separate photos of each pet must be entered, posted separately and the $10 submission fee paid for each. One pet per entry.
6. Pet owners are encouraged to have their friends, relatives and co-workers visit the contest website and vote for their pet. Each vote costs $1 each, and there is no maximum on how many votes can be purchased. For example, $100 pays for 100 votes that can be used anytime during the contest period. Pet owners may purchase additional votes, too. Ballot box stuffing is encouraged!
7. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation scholarship and local youth-related non-profits grants for 2020 and 2021.

The Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020 Contest will officially launch August 1, 2020 and end at midnight on September 4, 2020.

Contest winners will be announced on September 8, 2020 and honored with their photos in the Mukilteo Beacon, the November edition of Mukilteo Monthly, and on the Mukilteo Kiwanis "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020" webpage.


Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Dogs, the Top 3 Cats and the Top 3 Unique Pets based on the number of votes received by midnight September 4. There will be a total of nine (9) prizes. All 9 winners will be featured in the Mukilteo Beacon and Mukilteo Monthly magazine.

1. First Place: The pet in each category (dog, cat and unique pet) with the most votes will be crowned the "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
   1. The first place winner from each category will receive a first place trophy and a free pet photo package taken by a local professional photographer. Prize worth: $75.
   2. Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.
2. Second Place: The pet with the second highest number of votes in each category will be deemed the "Second Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
   1. The second place winner from each category will receive a second place trophy and a specialty basket of goodies. Basket value: $50.
   2. Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.
3. Third Place: The pet with the third highest number of votes will be deemed the "Third Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020".
   1. The third place winner from each category will receive a third place trophy and a $25 gift card from Sam's Pet Store.
   2. Top pet winners may be asked to attend promotional events and be available for interviews by the news media.

The Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation will make every attempt to notify the Top 3 Dog, Top 3 Cat and Top 3 Unique Pet category winners via telephone and email during the week of September 8.

If the winner cannot be contacted by September 15, the second place winner will take the top spot. Should the second place winner also not be successfully contacted by the deadline of September 22, the third place winner takes the top spot.

1. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
2. In the event that the operation of the contest is impaired in any way for any reason, the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the contest to address the impairment and then resume the contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of the Official Rules, or (b), terminate the contest, and in the event of termination, award the prizes from among the eligible, legitimate entries received up to the time of impairment. The Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of the contest, act in an unsportsmanlike, disruptive or offensive manner or act in violation of these Official Rules.
3. By participating in the "Coolest Pet in Mukilteo 2020" contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Mukilteo Kiwanis Foundation, all other Sponsors and or Partners, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotional agencies, other companies associated the contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, members, representatives, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim for cause of action arising out of participating in this contest or receipt or use of the prize(s).

In order for entrants to participate on this content, we must collect some personal information such as the entrants first and last name, email address, age and city of residence. We also ask for the pet's name and age, which will be shared with the public. The entrant's information is not visible to the public, nor will any information gathered be shared with any other agencies, organizations, or persons unless required by law or necessary because of e-commerce transactions. Because we are using the GoGo Photo Contest website, this information is stored on their servers. Credit card information must also be collected from the secure GoGo Photo Contest website.

We will not collect, rent, trade or sell information for commercial purposes or in any way different from what has been disclosed.
