Your Pet's Story or Bio
Both Patti-Cakes! (the blue tortie) and Jake Navarro (the tux) are alum of MCHS. Jake was adopted from the mobile unit in Mendocino on Thanksgiving Weekend, 2000. Patti-Cakes! was adopted from the mobile unit in Mendocino on Thanksgiving Weekend, 2001. Jake's Great-Grandmother was a Navarro Indian cat hence his last name, at least that is what he told us. His first name, Jake, came from the old jake brake sign which was near the Heritage House. Patti-Cakes! had been on the lam for awhile when she was picked up on 9/11. She had been at the shelter for 2 1/2 months when we adopted her. Her fur was a mess. When we brought her into the house, she immediately started purring, knowing she was in a good place. Lots of loving and a good diet restored her fur to a beautiful, full coat. At times, she looks blue, other times, she looks pink. They are both integral part of our family and bring tremendous joy into our lives.
