Baby, the yellow lab, wasn't exactly rescued, but we saved her from a life of living in a garage with only a small dirt patch to play in. Chasing Frisbees on the beach was more her style. A few years later, a friend of ours found a kitten wandering the streets of San Jose. He couldn't keep her, so we did, named her Skeeterbug, and gave her the redwood forest. At about that same time, on a rainy February day, a small puppy ran into my workplace, wet and shivering. We kept him, too. Most people think that Sparky is very cute. They grew up together, played together and slept together.
