Your Pet's Story or Bio
Dobby the Dachuahua is willing to do anything for a treat, and has an extensive trick repertoire. If you give him a snack, he’ll be your pal for life.
He performs valuable services around the house: a doorbell (yarking madly after we’re already greeting our guests); a compost guard (yarking furiously at the ravens and vultures in case they’re planning to steal his treasure); a toddler-protector (he howls when our kiddo gets hurt and cries with him until we come to the rescue); and as a weighted lap-warmer.
Dobby is always game for a walk, whether it’s just a neighborhood stroll to smell the news and update his pee-posts, or a ten-mile wilderness hike with challenging log-crossings over rivers. Almost reliably, he mistakes a mat of floating duckweed for dry land, and yet somehow always seems surprised when he ends up soaked.
Every day that’s a good day for Dobby is a good day for the whole family. As I watch his muzzle slowly turn gray, I'm grateful for how much joy, humor, sweetness, and comfort he brings to our lives. Wherever we go, Dobby goes with, and we’re more complete for his love and devotion.
