Your Pet's Story or Bio
We adopted Otis in October of 2019 from an SPCA in Sacramento. As soon as we saw him, we loved him, but many families were ahead of us in the queue to do a “meet and great” with him. We lost hope, we figured someone would take him home. He was cute, small, chunky, we just knew, or at least we thought we knew. My boyfriend and I’s name was called off the queue and we were able to do our meet and greet. I sat on the floor of the private room and he ran right up to me and rubbed all over me. We found out that he was passed up so many times because he just had a large mass removed from his neck. He had low grade cancer. They said Otis could eventually battle cancer again and that’s why no one wanted him. That was a risk we were willing to take and now it’s October 2021, exactly 2 years later, and Otis has stayed cancer free and is extremely healthy!
