Pet's QuirksYoshi aka Mr. Baby is a big fluffy ball of energy and cuddles. He enjoys being cradled like an infant. Though he can only squeak, his purr is mighty. He love belly rubs and cat nip. He's afraid of the Netflix noise and plastic bags. He enjoys "Bold & Brash" featured in his cat sized art museum. Yoshi helps around the house by licking the tub clean after showers, trimming back house plants, keeping hair-ties hidden under furniture and chasing flies out of the front door. He loves his cat sister Cersei and fish friend Waluigi.
Pet's StoryYoshi (shelter name Newman), adopted 9/2019 from the MCSPCA, was found as a sick kitten on the streets of Long Branch. We first met him as a sleepy >2lb kitten with an eye and throat infection so we had to anxiously wait for him to get better to take him home. Though soft and cuddly, he is a fighter - beating multiple infections and living with multiple chronic diseases, one infection damaged his voice box giving Yoshi his iconic squeak. His doctors said his teeth will all need to be pulled in the coming years due to genetic disease of the gums.
Yoshi was welcomed to a building full of loving neighbors and an apartment full of love. Yoshi is the life of the party - showing off his belly for attention and rubs any chance he gets. When not in sight, he is laying in a laundry basket most likely preparing his next play attack on Cersei. Yoshi's nickname Mr. Baby comes from his dapper appearance, large size, cries for cuddles and his love of being held.
Yoshi spends his days with his mother who works as a nonprofit fundraiser and consultant. He is excited to put his experience as his mom's assistant to fundraise for the place that helped him so much as a kitten!
