How would you describe their personality? We named REX after my favorite dinosour, the T-Rex. He reminds me of the Jurrasic Period and makes me imagine what it might have been like to live when dinosours ruled the earth.
We gave REX a big home (a giant tank with special lights and a filter system which keeps his water clean) for healthy living. I decorated everything with floating logs, a wood dock to relax and sun on, some rocks, gravel and sand, and plants (both live ones & artificial greenery), it's cool. And we chose a bigger tank just in case he keeps growing up. I don’t know if it’s true but we read somewhere that turtles can live to be one hundred years if they are healthy and happy (i.e. one turtle who broke the world record lived over 200 years (so crazy for me to think about). So we keep REX happy by feeding him turtle pellets w/vitamins, but also live food snacks like: squishy ugly worms and crickets – REX really loves the crickets.
Most turtles don't like to be touched by humans because they are afraid of us and they get scared. But I can tell REX likes when I pick him up and pet him. I can see it in his eyes and if he could purr, he would. I love my turtle REX, and I know he loves me too!
