Both Kasey and Popoki were rescued from people who couldn't keep them. Popoki was a tiny little fluff ball that a woman found under her house and brought to the Humane Society; but before she entered we were in the parking lot & she asked if we wanted a kitten. I held the kitten up to Kasey, they went nose to nose and fell in love instantly. Kasey raised Popo from a tiny little kitty and they loved each other. Popo would follow us on our walks and talk to us. Popo is almost 15 years old now. When Kasey died Popo cried and howled for about an hour or two.
Kasey worked as a therapy dog with me, visiting Hale Makua and other places around the island. She also worked with my clients in early intervention who had developmental delays and autism. She was pure love.
