Your Pet's Story or Bio
While participating in the Women's March at the Maui Campus in January of 2017, my husband Fred, waited at the Maui Mall. A young girl asked him to hold a puppy and placed it in his arms. The puppy nuzzled his beard, licked his face and crawled into his heart. When I returned from the walk and saw the look on both their faces, I knew we were welcoming a new member into the family.
The puppy was adopted from HARF and we named him Moke, after Uncle Moke, a close friend...the best of kind hearted humans, with a sense of playfulness, a bit of a rascal, and so much Aloha.
Moke has grown into a very unique, loving, kind personality and always slightly kolohe. He listens intently and always has something to say. He has perfected the art of creating guilt for Mom and Dad, and he loves his best friend, Lupita the cat.
Moke slept in Fred's arms each night during the first months of training, forming a lifelong bond and resulting in 2 happy "dogs".
