Fig Newton born in Maui, HI in 2009 and died here in May 2022. Figs was found in a free box as a puppy at the old Kuau Mart. His dad was a pure bred chocolate lab and his mom was a lab pit mix in the neighborhood. He won the title of “best mixed breed” at the Maui Humane Society Poi Dog contest in 2012! He spent the majority of his life in Lahaina, playing ball at Wahikuli Beach and the park on Ainakea until he passed at almost 13. He was a true Maui boy. He is a legend and deserves a spot on this calendar. Mahalo!
