A little about me...
Cassie and Butterball were both born in the woods adjacent to an apartment complex in Lynchburg. They were part of a colony of ferals that we fed daily for months. They are from different litters, have the same father, but different mommas. Cassie is about 9 months older. While Cassie grew to sometimes let me hold her, Butterball, while friendly, kept his distsnce. During the colder months, they started sleeping in my apartment and then they'd leave in the morning. Soon, they started showing up every night. Before I was able to take them in as "roommates", Cassie got pregnant! But she still came to my door for shelter, nightly. Meanwhile, Butterball was coming in on his own, I would sit or lie on the floor each night to give him space to check me out at his own pace. Eventually, he found my lap a safe place and became very affectionate- quite pushy about it, in fact! One day, Cassie came literally banging at my door (body slam?) I let her in and she ran to a corner behind some boxes where she had, apparently, been brooding in preparation for her delivery. Over the next few hours, Cassie had 5 beautiful kittens - right in my apartment! All of which were, after weaning, adopted out by LHS. After Cassie had spent time in LHS foster, weaning her babies, I adopted her back and then, we were 3! ❤️
