We lost our dog, Nina, and cat, Callie Lynn, and we were missing having an animal,. So, we started looking online and we found Low Rider‘s webpage. We decided to become foster parents. We were asked to take care of Trooper, a 10 year old, male dachshund. He was suffering from severe separation anxiety. For the first two weeks we had him, Shirley had to hold him ALL the time. In the process of helping him, he immediately stole both our hearts. He also had some significant health issues, which resulted in him going to the University of Florida pet hospital for emergency surgery. We changed his name from Monster to Trooper, because he was so determined to live. After nursing him back to health, with A LOT of help from LRDR, we adopted him. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
