A little about me...
Late in the afternoon of December 30th, I recieved a call that a bonded brother and sister need foster home placement. The next morning, Cookie and her brother Max, began their journey to my home. The LRDR volunteers coordinated the 6 hour drive. Afterwards, 2 overweight and frightened Dachshunds were getting acquainted with my Chocolate Lab that my dad rescued before his passing and two small dogs also living in the house. It was evident Max and Cookie were loved but life's twist made them the victim of unfortunate circumstances. Cookie very quickly expanded her caretaker role and is on a mission to make sure all the dogs that allow it, have clean ears, eyes and any other body part accessible. When laying on the floor or sofa, Cookie also is compelled, using her cold wet nose, to explore up shirts, shorts, bathrobes leaving us all giggling at her assertive and sometimes very personal explorations; which we classify as sneak attacks. Cookie is also obsessed with squeaker toys. The world stops if she hears one and will spend hours searching for it. Thankfully the bird who frequented the yard chirping like Cookie's favorite Wookie toy, flew away.
