Tell us a little about you
Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be a math teacher. I have been living the dream for two years now. Even though my first two years of teaching were not what I expected, I would not change them for the world. I was honored to be named Rookie Teacher of the Year at River Oaks Middle School and District Rookie Teacher of the Year for Dorchester District Two. My students constantly tell me that I live up to my name "Nicely" because of my love for each of them. My goal as a teacher is simple: I want my students to understand that they will make an impact on society. With being a math class, I focus on class community. My students understand that everyone makes a mistake, but instead of pointing out the flaws in others, I teach my students to pick each other up and help gather a better understanding. They know that in Ms. Nicely's class, the only option is to "be nice." I am grateful for every opportunity I have had and the love to continue teaching.
