Gandalf is a true Olmsted native. Born in the woods in the Columbia Park community, his siblings, his mother and he were homeless. A good Olmsted Samaritan saved him and I made the mistake of touching him. The mother outright rejected him. So then I became his mother, bottle feeding him and he became part of the family. I heard the tragic story of the neglected cat colony where he's from. I met the Weirdos Cat Lovers of Cleveland (yes it's a group) and that was a turning point. We have since rescued at least 50 kittens and tnred over 200 while making sure we help the sick cats and place or send the kittens to other rescues. It was a very rewarding project and I am happy to say this little guy started it all. He is an Olmsted hero.
