My Story
My name is Ethan. I also answer to Big E, Ethan Allen Blue, Boo, and Boo-Boo. I was born right around a special holiday all about love. My white chest resembles a heart, I was able to live for a while with all of my brothers and sisters and mother in the same place at Life is Labs, and that makes my heart feel good and full!
We all had names that began with the letter "E", even my Mama. I was the only one with a Blue Brindle coat so that made me special. Then, all of my brothers and sisters were sent to a new home or another rescue far away from here. I was the one that was chosen to stay at the rescue. That also made me special.
One day, when I was about 5 months old, my new Mom, Dad, and Brother came to play with me. I was very calm and easy going. They decided I was perfect! I already knew that! So they adopted me! When they came to get me, I had already grown quite a bit! I was growing exceptionally fast! They decided to do a DNA test to see about my father. Well, my father was a Great Dane! Ha! That explains a whole lot!
I like to help in the kitchen, and with the laundry, and with bath time, and bedtime too! I'm so very helpful all the time! I am very loving! I give kisses to everyone I meet! I will give you a high 5 if you ask me! I sit and stay and wait and "go home" and "drop it" and lay down. I enjoy running and playing catch and fetch. Watch your socks! That's the one thing I steal!
I can get my own water. I turn the faucet on by myself! My Mom gets mad at me though because I never turn the water off. I put my toys away in their box when I'm all done playing! I am trained to go outside to go potty! I now love car rides, but it took me a while.
Everyone loves me when they meet me, and that includes the postal worker, the UPS person, the FedEx person, and anyone we meet on our daily walks.
I go to the Lake in GA to meet new friends and learn new things. Because I do so well there, my Mom, Dad, and Brother took me to the beach! It was so fun! I ran in the sand and jumped in the waves. I was a little scared of the water, between you and me. I met lots of new friends! It was great! The car ride there and back was the best ever!
I love all animals--cats, snakes, birds, other dogs. I have saved 2 baby birds and picked each up gently with my mouth and placed them back up in a safe place after they fell from the branch trying to fly. I tried to help a snake that was injured, but it was too late. He died. I was heartbroken. I lay with him for hours with my head on him, waiting for him to get better. He never did. I was sad. I am friends with the tuxedo cat across the street. We play all kinds of games. My favorite is hide and seek. He always hides, and I seek. I'm getting really good at it!
I love my home, my family, my neighborhood friends, and my yard too! I am so thankful for everything! Licks and tail wags and cuddles for everyone!!!
Love,
Ethan
My favorite pastime is
Cuddling with my family on the couch or bed! I don't care what they are doing as long as I am right there next to them!
The best thing anyone's ever done for me is
Love me! Food, exercise, water, a bath, going to the doctor when I'm sick, pets, scratches behind the ear, massaging my tired muscles, and kissing my nose! All of these things show me that my family loves me!
I can't live without
Being scratched daily on my sweet spot! I will show it to you! I will come over to you, turn myself around and stick my tail toward your face! Right above where my tail is attached is a dimple! Scratch that spot! I need to have it scratched daily, and many times during that day! Thank you kindly!
The naughtiest thing I've ever done is
I tear up plush toys, beds and pillows. I can't help myself. I only tear up my own, and not my family's things. I think it's because I love these things so much that I can't stop putting it in my mouth. Then I wanna chew them. Then there's a tiny hole. Then I wonder what's inside. Then I wonder how much fits in there. The rest is history.
The funniest thing I've ever done is
I watch everything my family does to learn everything and then copy everyone. That's how I learned how to turn on the faucet, and how to unlock my crate.
My mom thinks the funniest thing that I have ever done was decide that I want to brush my teeth every night when my brother brushes his teeth. Of course I would prefer to use the same toothbrush, but my mom got me my own toothbrush. When that faucet turns on, and I hear my brother's Spinbrush start its buzzing, I dash toward the bathroom, put my paws on the sink counter, and take a sip of water. I grab my toothbrush, and mom helps me with my teeth! My mom laughs every time. I don't understand why. I mean I am standing there, paws on the sink counter, mouth open wide, ready for clean teeth. Somehow she is tickled by this. My brother spits and gets a drink from the sink. My mom stops brushing and I rinse my mouth. I don't spit really, but I fill my mouth up so much that when I'm done, all the water runs out of my jawls! All clean and rinsed, and I'm not thirsty either. She finds the "excessive drooling " very funny as well.
My favorite place to go is
Anywhere I can be near my family and see out the window! That is perfect!
I'm completely obsessed with
Socks! I love socks! I find them everywhere--inside of shoes, on feet, in laundry baskets, in hampers, on the floor, in the beds, on chairs, on couches, in drawers, and on dressers and tables even! People are the ones that are obsessed! I just find them everywhere they leave them!
