Pet's Story or Bio
Larry and I have 4 furry kids and they are all rescues.
Oliver, the Siamese, is 3 years old and he was from an abandoned litter of kittens. We rescued him when he was about 6 weeks old. We never intended to have a cat, but he is definitely a part of the family... although the one that talks the most... especially at 5am on the weekends when we are trying to sleep in. But we love him just the same.
Abbey, the Australian Terrier mix, is the oldest at 8 years of age. She is the alpha of the household. Before she came to us, her previous owner left her outside and today she hides and shakes whenever there are storms or fireworks outside. But she knows she is forever safe in our arms and our home.
Linus, our Golden Retriever/Cocker Spaniel mix, came to us from Arkansas. We felt bad that he had been placed in two homes and returned as the 'parents' realized a dog require more care than they were ready for at the time. So we flew him to Tampa as an 8 week old puppy, named him Linus and he has been with us for two years now.
Finally, there is our Silky Terrier / Poodle mix. A co-worker found her abandoned on the street. Her hair was long and matted, she was covered in fleas and was anemic. My co-worker couldn't keep her, but she knew we loved animals, so she called me and we met at my vet office in Brandon. They bathed her, shaved her down, gave her all the necessary shots. We were going to foster her back to health and then find a home for her. We realized that we are terrible foster parents as we fell in love with her immediately and couldn't imagine her going anywhere else. So we named her Mattie, after all the mats that she had in her coat when we found her, and she has been a part of our family for the past 8 months.
are our life.
