Heidi
Pet's Story or Bio
Hello Everyone,
My name is Heidi. I am one of the very lucky kittens who came to HSTB and found a furrr-ever home right away!
When my litter-mates and I were eight weeks old, our Foster Mom brought us to the surgery center for a little operation. That very day my new mom was at HSTB looking for a companion for her 15 year old Persian, who was lonesome since her playmate crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. My new mom was there with her friend who is an HSTB Volunteer, so she got to come to the surgery center and see me and my brothers and sisters before our surgery. Well, she took one look at me and said, "that's my kitten; I want her!" She stayed with me quite a while and talked to me, but I was pretty small (runt of the litter, you know) so I was more interested in playing with my sister than I was in the nice lady.
My new mom saw how cute and happy I was playing with my sister and didn't have the heart to take me away by myself. We got lucky! The very next day she came back to HSTB and said she wanted to adopt me and my sister. I was really glad of that, because I don't know how I would have felt being so tiny and seeing that big fluffy Persian cat I was going to live with. As it turns out, that big fluffy Persian was a sweetheart and not scary at all.
After a couple of weeks my sister and I got to come out of our "dormitory" and meet the big girl. She lays around and keeps an eye one us when we're playing so we don't get into too much trouble. We try to play with her big fluffy tail but she doesn't care much for that so she just goes in her little house and takes a nap till we settle down.
My sister and I are really happy here, and we're growing like weeds. I don't look like a runt anymore. And, because I have nice long legs now, I can run really fast and jump pretty high! I can even climb the screens out on the lanai where Mom sits with us in the mornings to watch the deer and raccoons that live in the woods behind our house. We spend a lot of time staring at each other, but they're a friendly bunch and don't bother us. They sure are interesting to watch though. This morning we saw a baby deer that still had it's spots and three baby raccoons that live in a tree.
Well, just wanted to let you know that we're doing fine with our new mom in our fuuurrrr-ever home, so don't worry about us. Thanks for taking good care of us till Mom found us!!
P.S. Mom's an HSTB Volunteer now so she can help others till they find their forever home!
