Pet's Story or Bio
In late 2012 we lost the last of our elderly kitties; this one to kidney disease. I was devastated, and couldn't bear to come home to an empty house. The Sunday before Christmas I was beyond lonely. My husband and I made our way over to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to look at adult kitties. I peeked into cages and into the playrooms, searching for the right kitty. In the last cage I investigated, I found a young male Siamese. He was a bit aloof and unsure about his environment. Lincoln had been surrendered just a couple of days before, and wasn't quite a year old yet. After playing with him for awhile, we decided he was the right kitty at the right time. Our adoption counselor told us to give Lincoln a couple of weeks to warm up to us and become accustomed to our home. I made a run to the store for kitty essentials as soon as we got Lincoln settled in that evening. When I got back from the store, Lincoln was peering over the back of the sofa at me, and ran to meet me like his long-lost friend. A couple of hours after he came home, Lincoln was strutting around the house like he owned it. He claimed all of the old cat toys, the kitty castle, and our hearts in a matter of hours. So much for the two week warm-up period.
