Goose
A little about me...
Goose started life out in a rough way. On February 23rd of this year, Goose and 2 of his siblings were thrown from a moving car in Tampa, Florida. Goose suffered no injuries, his sister had broken leg, but his brother was hit by a car, and died at the scene. Goose and his sister waited by their brother's body all night until they were rescued by a good samaritan and brought to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The story rocked the Tampa Bay area. The Humane Society offered a $5000 reward for information on the people who could commit such an act. WWE wrestler and local rescue advocate Dave Bautista matched the reward money, bringing the total to $10,000. The individual still has not been brought to justice. When my husband and I read the story about Goose, we committed ourselves to adopting him the moment he was available. We had lost our English pointer 4 months prior, and we wanted to make sure we could bring home the right dog when it was time. Goose was that silly boy. The night Goose became available at the end of March, we wanted to make sure we were the first people at the shelter to bring him home. We arrived at the shelter at 4:15 in the morning; we were first. When Goose came into the room, I don't think I stopped crying. He was the sweetest boy, scared, alone, and just wanted to be loved. So since that day, we've made a point of showing him nothing but love. He has come out of his shell; he loves people, loves going to daycare to see his friends, loves chewing on sticks and chasing balls in the backyard, and loves snuggling up to my husband and I. He is truly a perfect boy. We're fortunate to give him the loving home he deserves, and the community that wishes him nothing but love.
