Blue
Pet's Story or Bio
Blue, formerly known as Buck, was adopted on March 2020. He was rescued from a place where he was caged most of his life, living in deplorable conditions, neglected and possibly abused. Once home with us, we watched this dog's drastic transformation. The first week, the smallest noise such as the crack of our knees when we get up, would make him jump. He would cower at any fast or sudden movements such as the throwing of a tennis ball. His first thunderstorm with us, before the thunder even started, he was startled by the swaying of the trees. Over time, he has learned to trust again. He can relax at home knowing he is safe and he is loved! He enjoys laying on the couch and looking out the window watching the leaves rustle, lizards passing by, and the many squirrels. He also enjoys treats, all kinds! He likes using his foraging skills and keen sense of smell to locate hidden treats. He dislikes bath time, but will put up with the hassle as long as there are treats involved. Freshly laundered blankets and towels are like clouds of heavenly softness for him and he'll never pass up a chance to roll around in one. Blue has been a blessing in our lives, teaching us how to love unconditionally despite the hurts of the past. We hope to give Blue the best days of the rest of his life. And many, many treats.
