Pet's Story or Bio
I adopted my buddy Chesko from Florida Poodle Rescue in March 2014 when he was around 11 weeks old. I was looking for a black miniature poodle, but all it took was one Iook at this little white and cream shih tzu mix before I knew we would be forever friends. From the second he arrived to my home, he wanted to be best friends with my three older cats...it just took them a little longer to agree. Chesko is a fast learner and has learned so many tricks and continues to pick up new things. His favorites are "stick 'em up", walking on his back legs, high five, turning around, crawling, waving, and speaking. He LOVES children and babies and is always happy to meet new people and animals. He's not a high energy dog, but loves to play fetch, and knows most of his toys by name. I'm sure if it was up to him, he'd be on squirrel lookout all day long and he also loves to chase rabbits out of the yard. Chesko goes to a lot of places with me and he loves car rides, kayaking, dog beaches, going to work with me, and visiting senior citizens when I take him to visit my grandmother!

I should also mention that he is not camera shy and so easy to photograph. All I usually need to say is "look at me" and he'll turn and smile :). Chesko is the happiest little dog and he teaches me a lot about how to enjoy life and see things from his eyes. Perfect success story of a rescue matching up humans with dog companions and I couldn't imagine not having this dog in my life!
