Pet's Story or Bio
When my daughter was little, she did not like to go to school, so I would make up elaborate stories about our pet dachshund, Peanut's adventures at "his school," complete with a host of dog friends with colorful personalities, and even a girlfriend named "Flower." Each day, my daughter would come home from school, anxiously awaiting to hear the latest stories about Peanut's silly capers at school. Peanut's best friend, at his imaginary school, was Rodney the Rottweiler who drove a race car. The stories about Peanut's adventures, not only entertained her, but helped to ease her anxiety about school. Many years later, when our sweet Peanut passed away at the age of thirteen, in the midst of an overwhelming state of sorrow, my daughter had an epiphany: "Mom, we just have to find a 'Rodney,' Peanut's best friend." I was so touched, as I could hardly believe that she remembered. We scoured the newspapers and ads for rescues until we finally found the perfect "Rodney" -- though not exactly what you might expect. This Rodney is a timid, nine-pound tri pie dachshund, the polar opposite of a "race car-driving" Rottweiler! But he instantly captured, and successfully healed our hearts, rightfully earning him the beloved moniker, Rodney P. (Peanut) Wallace.
