Rocky was Hurricane Ian rescue. At age 11, he had been surrendered to a Fort Myers shelter but not adopted. A few weeks later, Hurricane Ian hit and demolished the facility. The animals were transferred to HSSC (the Humane Society of Sarasota County) where he was safe and cared for. I adopted him immediately and he quickly became best friends with Katy, who was adopted in 2017 from HSLWR . I have written a children's book, "Rocky the Hurricane Dog" which tells Rocky's story; how Hurricane Ian changed his life . He is now a very happy dog living his best life.
