Harley (then Zodiac) arrived at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minnesota via a Petsmart Charities Rescue Waggin' ride from the Humane Education Society in Chattanooga, TN. I knew from the second I saw his picture on the Animal Humane Society website that he was my dog. I was told that this cutie was 6 or 7 years old, but didn't know anything additionally about Harley's background until I did some research by calling HES. I soon found out from the kind people at the HES that he was one of the dogs they rescued from a hoarding case in Marion County, TN (http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/24399011/dogs-rescued-from-filthy-hoarding-conditions-in-marion-county).
Harley has been adjusting to the life of luxury over the past nine months, but still has issues with socialization due to his lack of human and animal interation for the better part of his life. We've been working on these through classes at both Petsmart and the Animal Humane Society and he's showing signs of improvement daily. Harley has brought so much joy to my life and can make me laugh at the drop of a hat. He loves his walks, playing with his neighbor dog friend, chewing plenty of bones and making any area in the house his by curling up and napping. He forgot about the cold winter temperatures in Minnesota, so he's had to adjust to his parka and booties again!
