Founded in 1955, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is the only open access, no-kill animal welfare organization operating in Martin County, Florida. HSTC accepts all animals regardless of health, age, temperament or breed, and we do not place any limits on the amount of time a pet can stay in our shelter before finding a forever home. Over the years, hundreds or thousands of animals have received care through HSTC's programs and services. With nearly 3,000 animals being rehomed annually through aggressive adoption program, HSTC has joined other leading shelters around the state and country as a model organization for lifesaving culture change in its community.
We are an independent and local non-profit organization, relying on the support of our local community to help us continue our mission to provide compassionate care and to nurture the bond between people and pets. In fact, it's the individual donors, business partners, and charitable foundations throughout the Treasure Coast who make it possible for us to provide quality medical care, food and shelter, adoption and spay/neuter programs, humane education, and other important services to more than 7,500 animals each year.
