Your Pet's Story
We had to put down our shepherd mix earlier in 2006 (he was also an HSFN alumni). We waited a bit to start looking in earnest. We were looking for something small - I was thinking under 25 pounds. We had put ourselves on the list for when new dogs came in, and there was a rescue of dogs from down south that we were called about. When we got there, we looked at one or two other dogs that were smaller (what we were looking for). However when we saw Mickey/Vicki we knew she was the one. She has such a sweet temperament there was no way we couldn't adopt her.
