Jerry’s journey from a senior dog on the brink of being put down to becoming a beloved fixture in Charlotte embodies the true spirit of resilience that defines rescue dogs. A little over two years ago, the Humane Society of Union County found Jerry in such bad shape that they immediately brought him in to be euthanized. Miraculously, what was supposed to be his final meal- a McDonald's cheeseburger on the way to the vet- perked him up enough to buy him some time, and after three months of TLC from a fantastic foster to help him gain weight and recover from heartworm, he was ready to come to me-his forever home.
Since then, Jerry has become my shadow and loves nothing more than to go everywhere in Charlotte with me and steal licks of unsuspecting ankles in hopes his victims will give him a few pets. For a creature that should have every reason not to trust people, Jerry is a stranger to no one and melts right into anyone who gives him a chance to share his love.
Featuring Jerry on a can of Rescue Brew would not only honor his incredible journey but also share his message of hope to Charlotte and hopefully showcase the unique joys of adopting a senior dog. Jerry is more than a rescue dog; he's a symbol of second chances and the transformative power of unconditional love.
