Maris was born in the HSC on Thanksgiving Day thanks to wonderful volunteers who took time away from their holiday to bring some beautiful puppies into the world. She was named, Maris Otter, after a type of malted barley as I was working at a brewery when she found me. Maris lived her puppy years going to work at a local Charlotte brewery with my boyfriend at the time who was a brewer there. She grew up sleeping under the tanks, “helping” with the brewing process, and greeting everyone who walked into the tap room. She is a sneaky beer thief and has been know to paw a beer out of many a hand so she can lick what spilled off the floor. Many years into the retirement from brew dog life she has embraced a life of going on long runs on the greenway, napping on the couch, and truly being a Queen Dog of Charlotte.
