I rescued Maddie from House of Paws in Charlotte in December of 2021. She was actually on the kill list (if you can believe it) due to overcrowding before House of Paws fostered her. She was the shyest pup there was, and didn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. Since then, she has come out of her shell and will play will the best of them. She loves other dogs and people and would spend all day with her friends Whiskey, Frank and Arlo at skiptown if she could.

Maddie had heart worms when I first got her, and she wasn’t allowed to play with any of her friends for a long time. We threw her a party when she got cleared by the vet, and she hasn’t looked back. When walking the rail trail, she will drop down and lay in the grass like a sack of potatoes if she sees another dog. She’s full of sass and will not move until she can at least sniff that dog.

Maddie had a tough start, but now, we’re living life to the fullest. If there was ever a deserving pup, it would be her!
