Pet's Bio or Adoption Story
At six years old and heart worm positive, Tootsie was an owner surrender at the city shelter with not much hope of being adopted. A local rescue group Dogs 2nd Chance saw Tootsie's charm and took her into the group to get her healthy and find her a new home. Since we adopted her in 2016, Tootsie has proven herself to be a calm, quiet diplomat who gets and does exactly what she wants without ever offending anyone. Tootsie carries herself with the air of someone totally comfortable in her own skin who doesn’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone. She doesn’t try to be the boss, she just does her own thing and somehow brings a peacefulness to those around her. Our other dogs adore Tootsie and consider her the leader of the group. She has the most beautiful eyes and a crazy tongue which is sticking, poking or hanging out of her mouth most of the time. Since she has been with us, she has brought so much happiness to our home and, without fail, makes us smile and laugh every single day. We consider ourselves lucky to have Tootsie in our lives and are so thankful to Dogs 2nd Chance for giving Tootsie a second chance at life!
