Why is your dog a hero?
Chance is my 2yr old trained personal protection dog. True to a Cane Corso’s nature, Chance has saved me multiple times from being harmed. On one occasion he broke through my car window when a man walked up yelling and cursing at us. That man ended up following me and Chance was deployed for my protection and got the man to run away. On another occasion Chance protected me from a man suffering a mental crisis, swinging a metal pipe around while running toward me. And lastly, Chance saved a man’s life from a brutal attack at Centinela Park in Inglewood. The man was being beaten by 2 people and Chance was the only thing that could make them get off of him. He kept them at bay until Inglewood PD and the fire department arrived. In another occasion, an older woman was walking to the store at night, as was I, and she felt afraid. So she asked for Chance and I to escort her home- which we did successfully. He is nothing short of a hero that keeps not only me, but community members safe every single day. Chance would be an honorable mascot for LAFD.
