Why is your dog a hero?
A number of years ago, I rescued Ollie and formed an immediate connection with him. We both enjoy being outdoors and Ollie has really excelled at dock diving and flyball, He is a star athlete in the dog world. But he is more to me than an athlete or a pet.

I am hearing impaired, and it's remarkable that Ollie instinctively knows to act as my "ears" wherever we go. I rely on his body language and cues to indicate sounds, many which fall outside my hearing range. Ollie often alerts me to sounds that are relevant to my safety and survival. He is my hero because of the increased sense of security and independence he gives me and for the joy that he brings to my family.
